Goran Tomcic is an artist and writer, who has formerly worked as a curator of contemporary art. Born in 1964 in former Yugoslavia, he is a Croatian and US citizen, currently living in Berlin, Germany. He studied Art History and Comparative Literature at the University of Zagreb, and holds an MA in Curatorial Studies from Bard College (1996) where he graduated with a theses on the work of Marjetica Potrc. Tomcic has worked as a Director of Galleries at Miami-Dade College, and as Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at Oberlin College, Ohio, among other positions that he held. His book of poetry, “Fragile” has been published in Zagreb in 1991; he has received his US citizenship based on his continuing writing in English. Since 2000, Tomcic has been living as an independent artist and writer.
