Yulia Kazakova (RU) is a painter from Moscow, now living and working in Berlin. Her graphic style visually takes its inspiration from theater scenographies, architecture and industrial design. Kazakova explores the aesthetic of the ruins between a futuristic dream and a dystopic nightmare on flat, clean canvases, reminding us to the comic strips but also to the sci-fi drawings tradition.
Yulia Kazakova graduated in 2007 at UdK Berlin with the professor Wolfgang Petrick. Since 2003 she participated to numerous exhibitions in Europe and abroad, as the group show Zona Maco, Art Fair Mexico Arte Contemporaneo, Mexico City (2009), the solo show Ansichten, Kulturhaus Centre Bagatelle, Berlin (2009), and the solo exhibition Yulia Kazakova, Galeria Tomas Cohn, Sao Paulo (2010).
