Solo Exhibition by Berry Kim

South Korean artist Berry Kim is participating in SomoS’ Berlin Artist-in-Residence program, gathering and reinterpreting the visual and textual language of Berlin. She plays with the city’s name in creating her own ‘Berrylin,’ a land sans the pressures of S. Korea, yet still heavily based on the reinterpretation of a man-made cityscape and consumer culture.

NEW RESIDENT ARTISTS
 
SomoS is happy to welcome several new artists to its Berlin Artist-in-Residence Program Spring 2019.
 
Alison Mathews is a multi-disciplinary artist and scholar from the United States, who creates intimate participatory experiences out of text, song and scenographic environments.
 
Berry Kim is a painter from South Korea, who, through colorful mixed-media drawings, paintings, sculptures, and wearable art celebrates individuality and expression of character in a hyper image/status-focused society.
 
French-born painter Christie MacDonald explores our internet-focused world in thought-provoking abstractions.
 
Hanae Moreno joins us from Geneva to pursue her autobiographical figurative painting focused on the self and the body.
 
Jacob Anthony is a multi-disciplinary artist from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, whose practice revolves around the themes of gender and identity politics.
