Daria Marchik is a Visual Artist, Photographer, art director and creator of ambiguous art forms with a focus on eccentric nonconformity. Having evolved in New York for the most part, her look on culture and it’s inhabitants tends to shift the dualistic view of societies’ standards. Inspired by Berlin’s Grotesque Burlesque, GLAM DAM extracts color & form, glorifying Role Play, Female Ambivalence, Escapism & Retro-Romanticism.
Marchik has taken part in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Russia, USA, Ukraine, Germany, UK. Within her multidisciplinary practice, she works with photography, video art, installation and performance.
She currently works in Berlin & Moscow in Performance, Fashion, Art & Photography fields.
The artist took part SomoS Alter Angle exhibition with her 2014 photo series” DIVALAND – A Story of Female Ambivalence & Androgyny” dedicated to tolerance, depicting delicate real life characters, staged in their natural environment.
