US-American Multimedia Artist & Educator
Linda Post is an US multimedia artist and educator who explores the sculptural limits of time-based media via video, installation, sculpture, audio, and photography. Her work is often site-specific, involving psychogeographic mental and aesthetic explorations; a choreography of the everyday; and the creation of links across time and space.
Post’s work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in the US, frequently in Texas and New York. On an international scale, her work has been shown in London, Berlin, and Amsterdam. Articles online and in print about her exhibitions include those in magazines such as Artforum, Photography Quarterly, Art in America, Glasstire, and catalogs such as eflux video rental. Post wrote about her collaborative work with Robert Appleton IGVONNE (2012) in Media-N.
In an interview together with SomoS, Post stated:
The artist graduated with a BFA in Sculpture and Experimental Filmmaking from the Massachusetts College of Art (Boston) and a MFA in Film and Video from Bard College (New York). She currently lives in Texas where since 2010 she works as an Associate Professor of Digital Media Art at the Stephen F. Austin State University (Texas). In 2018, she spends her sabbatical in Berlin, taking part in SomoS’ Berlin Artist-in-Residence program. The Berlin art projects of Linda Post involve a period of wide-ranging research and material experimentation and will culminate in an immersive media installation. Containing elements such as video, sound, and performance, this interactive installation will be presented at SomoS art space at the end of November 2018.
