from: 10.09.2019 7pm  to: 9pm

September 10th 2019, SomoS host a new edition of our regular Peer to Peer Art Project Feedback Sessions, this time moderated by SomoS Artist-in-Residence Shraddha Borawake.

This session is open to artists, curators and creatives of any background who would like to receive feedback on their work.

At each session, artists and curators comment on each other’s work in an outspoken and constructive manner, with the presence of a moderator. The purpose of the session is to create a casual but focused atmosphere, in which creators get the opportunity to share their own work-in-progress and challenges, and at the same time to critique their peers.

The session is free of charge. Capacity is limited to 8-10 people per session so registration in advance is required.

Please confirm your participation by emailing somos@nullsomos-arts.org, and we will send you a confirmation back.

Please bring along documentation of your work in any shape or format. There will be a video projector available. Physical work is also welcome.

ABOUT SHRADDHA BORAWAKE:

Shraddha Borowake is a visual artist from Pune, India. Her work builds on elements of ritual, social art and repurposing found objects and materials. Optics, reflection, language and light are recurring stylistic devices in Borowake’s work, which spans photography, video, installation, and collaborative co-creation. Thematically, she approaches the complexity of relations between systems of knowledge, history and the everyday. Hew work represents what she calls “ritual landscapes” that take into account what has been lost or remade in a contemporary, postcolonial era.

Awards and Scholarships to the artist have included the Holland Scholarship, 2016; nomination for the Netherlands Fellowship Program, 2016; the Habitat Photosphere Award, New Delhi, India, the Leo Bronstein Homage Award, New York University, New York; and Johnson & Johnson ICP Fellowship Program, New York. Borowake has produced both independent and collaborative works extensively, including key works such as Shifting Studios, TIFA, India 2019; Bend in the Bough in collaboration with Nicole Jordan, Alchemy Collective, CODARTS, Larisa Garande and Sophie Bates, the Netherlands 2018, Women in Construction: A Cross Cultural Dialog, Auswüchse The Mobile Exhibition, Kulture Banholf e.v. Leipzig 2018, and her ongoing major project, Garb-Age, Open Studios, Shifting Studios, TIFA, India 2019.
