Scope Sessions #78

Artist Talks & Media Salon

from: 13.12.2018 7pm

SomoS is pleased to host the 78th edition of the Scope Sessions. Scope is a meeting point for the creative and the curious, a platform for sharing and learning in an informal setting. Each session, two guest artists are invited to present a project, a concept, a process or an experience. The presentations are short, around 30 minutes and unrestricted in form. Offering a variety of topics and approaches, Scope is about exposure, not for the artist, but for the audience.

For Scope Sessions #78, the participating artist are Innative Lab and Matt Gingold (aka Helen Back aka gameover/hack).

Innative Lab will provide insight into their interdisciplinary practice that integrates neuroscience, visual arts and performance art, researching the interconnection between humans and nature.

The talk by second artist speaker, trans-feminist artist, producer, curator, critic and coder Matt Gingold (aka Helen Back aka gameover/hack) will cover transitions, new work and future projects.

Participants

Innative Lab – Phygital Immersive Experiences

Innative Lab – Deep Waves, 2018
Founded in 2017 in Berlin, Innative Lab aims to create immersive experiences through the connection of art and sensing technologies. Integrating such fields as contemporary dance, performance art, neuroscience, audiovisual art and FashTech (the merging of fashion and technology), Innative Lab regards its experimental collaborations as ways of overcoming the barriers between disciplines.

Innative Lab’s first performance, Deep Waves, adapts ancestral rituals with today’s technology to explore primal ways of connecting; joining ancient techniques of influencing neuronal activity with modern approaches of neuroscience.

Speakers: Willi Döring, Federico Foderaro, José Fernando Andrade.
