Ukrainian photographers Tania Shcheglova & Roman Noven / Synchrodogs’ innovative oeuvre presents us with inventive imagery from the crossover of art and fashion photography, where there‘s room for personal and challengingly eccentric ways of lurid and eroticized self expression.

Functioning in both of these worlds on a high artistic level, the color photography of the internationally active duo presented at SomoS’ Rule 34 and Alter Angle – Berlin Fashion Week Artists’ Spotlight 2013 group shows stem from the artist’s “Misha Koptev Portfolio.” Lovingly depicting the life of fourtysomething down-and-out fashion designer Misha Koptev from the notorious Ukrainian city of Lugansk, together with his friends and models, these classic Synchrodogs images show the full range of the talented artist’s abilities, offering an intimate and challenging Eastern-European vision of tenderness, despair, fierceness and sleazy glamor.
