Black Jaguar

SomoS Artist-in-Residence October-December 2019 Black Jaguar is a South-Korean feminist activist and multidisciplinary artist, whose work is strongly rooted in the political aim of identifying and subverting patriarchy. Her art encompasses performance, photography, fashion and drawing, which she brings together with a bold, expressive and disruptive style.

Rotterdam-based photographer Ari Versluis is known for his Exactitudes photo series, made in collaboration with Ellie Uyttenbroek, which examines the construction of social identity by way of fashion codes. In contrast, his commissions and solo work Encounters focuses on self-expressing individuals as a representation of a new kind of super-diversity.
