SomoS Visiting Researchers /Academics/Writers Residency

The application period for SomoS Berlin Artist-in-Residence Program 2019 is now open. Inquiries for specific periods are welcome and international residents will be accepted on a rolling basis. Earliest availabilities are December 2018 and January 2019. Visiting Researchers/Academics/Writers stays are minimally 1 month.

Researchers and academics visiting Berlin in order to pursue projects and research in the creative fields are invited to stay for a time at SomoS Art House. They will become a part of a thriving artistic community with an active exhibition and event program and will easily and swiftly become well-acquainted with the creative, networked city that is Berlin.

Professionals will be provided with accommodation in furnished studios with access to shared areas of SomoS such as a large fully-equipped kitchen, library, office facilities, a big social living space and salon (suitable for presentations, talks or meetings). SomoS’ team is at hand 5 days a week to deal with any questions you might have. While most participants in this Visiting Researchers /Academics/Writers Residency are working independently, we welcome cooperations with SomoS on a project, or some kind of public presentation of your work, especially for longer stays.

The well-insulated studios feature wooden floors, mostly high ceilings, LED-light panels, large double pane windows and central heating and are equipped with working table, chairs and bed. A shared bathroom is outside the studio. The adjacent exhibition/project space measures 110 qm. Two studios feature a private kitchen & bathroom.
