Workshop for Ideological Intervention

By Bianca Tainsh (Australia)

from: 12.09.2018 6pm  to: 8pm

SomoS presents the “Workshop for Ideological Intervention” by Australian visual artist and curator Bianca Tainsh. Scheduled September 6th, 12th, 18th, and 22nd 2018, the series of workshops and rituals takes place within the context of the artist’s solo exhibition Reconfiguring the Meme Machine.

The Workshop for Ideological Intervention invites you to transcend into an alternative space for reflection, in an evening of immersive video art and discussion that explores ideological reinvention in the age of consumerism.

Within the current conditions of global adversity how can we as individuals influence positive change in such formidable environmental, social and political crisis? These experiential workshops aspire to empower participants in generating their own change through daily life practices, and to restore a sense of global community in the fight against consumerism and environmental injustice. Values, self-identity, nature and life experience become a reflective framework for crafting a template for meaningful and conscientious living.

This will be an intimate evening of art and conversation at SomoS Art Space. Please note that there is no religious agenda behind these workshops, and they are free and inclusive to all people.

The workshops will be held in English, some will have a German translator with content directed towards a Berlin audience.

The League for Human Integrity is an organized movement for ideological reinvention in the age of Mass Consumerism. Through motivating social and personal transformation LHI reimagines humanity as a global collective of humans, all responsible to each other and the world they inhabit. Participants are deprogrammed from the unrealistic ideologies of Mass Consumerism, and offered a new perspective of being an autonomous, self-expressive individual, who creates positive change by designing their own ideologies.

Through experiential workshops an alternative and liberal space is created for people to transcend and reflect through video soundscapes and workshopping, exploring the realities of contemporary existence. Values, self-identity, nature and life experience become a reflective framework for individuals to design their own Blueprint for Being, a philosophical checklist for meaningful and conscientious living. This is a workshop for anyone.

The workshops will be held in conjunction with an exhibition of video, print and installation practice at SomoS Art Space in Berlin, 18 – 22 Sep 2018. The gallery will become an open platform for a Berlin audience to engage with LHI. The first workshop will be held on the 6th September.
